Yamal-601 was successfully launched

May 30, 2019 – Yamal-601, a satellite built by Thales Alenia Space for Russian satellite operator Gazprom Space Systems, was successfully launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome on a Proton-M rocket. As planned, Yamal-601 will be deployed at 49°E to replace Yamal-202 and offer telecommunications and data transmission services in C and Ka bands. The new satellite carries 38 C-band transponders to cover Russia, the CIS, Europe, the Near East, and part of South-East Asia. Its multi-beam Ka-band payload will be used over the territory of Russia with hub stations in Pereslavl-Zalesski and the Novosibirsk region.
